There are so many unusual dining experiences and romantic restaurants in Aruba. They are all made extra special by sunset so I recommend finding out what time the sun sets and then booking your table for about 30 minutes before. This gives you the amazing experience of being able to listen to the sounds of the ocean and watch the colours of sunset while you enjoy your meal.

There are lots of options but these are the romantic restaurants in Aruba that we tried:

Flying Fishbone Restaurant

Dinner in the sea at the Flying Fishbone Restaurant

The flying fishbone restaurant is in the small fishing town of Savaneta, about a 15 minute drive from the Renaissance Hotel. It includes tables on the beach and a limited number of tables where you can have your feet in the water (try to book at least a few weeks in advance). They have stands next to all of the tables for your shoes and once night falls they light the lanterns and turn on the under water lights to create a magical atmosphere. This is the only restaurant in Aruba I could find that had dining tables actually in the sea. The food was lovely, with lots of fresh fish on the menu as well as many delicious desserts. We had a flaming baked Alaska and they even brought me a tiny piece of cake with a sparkler for my birthday to top off a wonderful evening.

Barefoot restaurant

Romantic dinner on the beach at Barefoot restaurant in Aruba

Barefoot restaurant is a lot more central,  it’s only a 20 minute walk from the Renaissance Hotel. A nice restaurant with tables on the beach, or as they put it ‘elegant dining in flip flops’. This was the only beach that was quite busy when we arrived, however by the time it came to sunset it was much quieter and very romantic. So much so that the man on the table next to us proposed (she said YES!).

The waitress was kind enough to take some lovely photos of us. If possible try to get a table that is closest to the water, otherwise other tables may be in the background of your photos. But even if you are towards the back, the tables are spaced out more than at a normal restaurant so it feels more private.

Elements Restaurant

Elements restaurant is part of the Bucuti & Tara beach resort on Eagle beach, about a 10 minute drive from Renaissance Hotel. This was the most expensive restaurant we visited, at around $200 for the set menu and a bottle of wine. This price was for the ‘private romantic dining’ option that means you will dine at 1 of 3 beach huts on a very quiet beach. I’d recommend choosing the earlier time slot at 18:00 so that you are dining during sunset. This experience really is a place where you can relax, and enjoy a loved ones company with a delicious meal in a stunning setting and one of the most romantic restaurants in Aruba.

Wonders Boutique Hotel

Breakfast by the pool at Wonders Boutique Hotel

Even though it isn’t technically a restaurant, I thought this hotels breakfast deserved to be on the list. A small family run hotel, Wonders Boutique serves a lovely breakfast by the pool in their quiet, green, tranquil garden. A perfect way to start the day and the owners are so friendly and helpful.

These are some of the romantic beach restaurants in Aruba. Hopefully one day I can return and experience some of the others, let me know any of your favourites.
